The first episode had a really nice pace to it and insightful content. I found myself saying "oh yeaaaa" to a lot of the stuff host Shawn was saying. Nicely edited, great vibe, I am hooked! Definitely looking forward to more of spill the tea!

I believe that all coffee should be under 5 ringgit, thank you shawn for taking a stand with us that just need to be caffeinated. They can't keep getting away with making it fancy and charging it 12 ringgit and have it taste like crap!!!

So shawns the kinda guy who talks about cafes on the first date huh? Lol but anyway, interesting episode!! Loved the addition of a guest host. Great cafe/kopitiam facts!!

The podcast is a good piece of work. All the 4 episodes were presented with great clarity by the presenter, Shawn. Shawn's good voice has also drawn my interest to what he had to say from beginning to the end. The various sound effects make the podcast more interesting to listen to. Shawn has given a comprehensive commentary about coffee culture in Malaysia, in particular the emergence of kopitiams and cafes. He has also made a good comparison between them. The only thing is that Shawn has missed the point about kopitiams' food. In fact, kopitiams have a lot more to offer than what he and his tinder date thought. Entering a typical kopitiam, you will find a wide range of food such as pau, kuih, buns, cakes, all in their different varieties. Some kopitiam owners and food stall operators whom the owners rent their space to also serve cooked food for customers who wish to have some solid food. The wonderful thing is, all these food and drink are sold at affordable prices. Despite my disagreement over Shawn's comments about kopitiam food and his prediction about its demise, I somehow like what he said about the coexistence of kopitiams and cafes and how they can suit the expectations of different groups of people.

It was nice to hear someone else speak passionately about kopitiams. Did not expect him to later accept cafes as well but I guess that’s growth and it seems sensible. Overall a very nice and insightful podcast!

I love this podcast! I was raised in a kopitiam and this is the perfect podcast for preserving or at least talking about a part of my heritage with some complexity! Thank you guys for spilling the tea

Still a cafe girl at heart but after listening to the entirety of this podcast series maybe I’ll give kopitiams a fair chance too.

I love both cafes and kopitiams! Glad to see shawn telling his listeners that it is in fact possible for them both to co-exist and for us to identify ourselves around the experiences of them both :)
